You can safely inspect rollers with the door closed: look for cracks, tilted stems, or missing rollers. Do not attempt replacement yourself. The door must be secured in the open position with locking pliers on the track, and even then the torsion spring system holds lethal tension. A roller swap requires releasing the door from the opener, partially disassembling the hinge, and working within the track radius where fingers get pinched regularly.
